People often ask us how the Blue Sky diet works. But the thing is, we don’t consider our weight loss program a diet. We know that most times, extreme dieting has a yo-yo effect where people lose a lot of weight and then gain it back. Our weight loss program is about teaching our clients to make healthy choices both in the foods they eat to nourish their bodies, and in the way they care for their bodies through exercise.
We understand that creating new exercise habits can be difficult, whether you are trying to carve out time in your day, get motivated, or learn how to build endurance. That’s why we started our Couch-2-5K nine week running training plan led by Blue Sky MD’s Nutrition Counselors. Together, we will help you prepare for, and run a 5K.
Participants will meet twice a week at either 7:30AM or 12:00PM for a 45 minute to an hour workout in either Arden or Hendersonville. The workout sessions in this 5k training program will include a group warm-up, 20-25 min walk/jog/run intervals, finishing up with a cool down/stretch. We understand that everyone’s fitness level and goal is different; it doesn’t matter how fast you run, as long as you are challenging yourself.
Once you have completed your Couch-to-5k weight loss training, we will participate as a group in the 2014 White Squirrel Festival 5K on May 24th in Brevard. Whether this is your first 5K or one of many, you are sure to enjoy the fellowship and support of our running group while learning how to safely train for and reach your exercise goals.
